A thought on opening hands
In a full ring situation consider this.
1. For discussions sake dont include tells/reads etc 2. If in late position and folded to one would argue that hands of less strengt is playable and even raisable since u could end up stealing the blinds or it is common thought that less good hands might be up against u putting u in a favourable condition. 3. Then I wonder, if all folded to would`nt that imply that no real good cards where delt up front and it is more likely to encounter good hands in those yet to act? |

Re: A thought on opening hands
NO.
If they have A9o A8o A7o A6o K8o K7o K6o Everyone will fold to you. If you have QJs, you're in pretty good shape. |

Re: A thought on opening hands
you still need a better hand to call or raise because your no up against A RANDOM HAnd your against a hand of some strength unless your stealing then you could raise with slightly more hands than you could call with
2 your second point is true it is called bunching but it doesnt have a huge mathematical factor |

Then I wonder, if all folded to would`nt that imply that no real good cards where delt up front and it is more likely to encounter good hands in those yet to act? [/ QUOTE ] Someone else described this as "bunching" and from what I've read it is mathematically insignificant, just as he stated. But, let me ask you this... now if we were all rational and followed your logic on this point. Wouldn't the blinds now think the same thing? And, so they would now think that YOUR hand is much more likely to be stronger, and so theirs would have to be EVEN stronger? -RMJ |

Re: A thought on opening hands
thats true and eventually we would need AA to call
So thats why bunching is insignificant |
