Gosu or chobo?
MP1 is tightish and aggressive. 25/12/2.9 over 580 hands. His turn aggression=4.1; The other two players are loose/horrible.
I think that pre flop, turn and river are all debatable. My thinking during the hand: I called on the turn because of outs+chance he is raising for a free showdown on AK/AQ. In retrospect, he probably does not raise those hands on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Party 20/40 (7 handed) Preflop: Jeff is BB with 8c, 6c. UTG calls, MP1 raises, 2 folds, SB calls, Jeff calls, UTG calls. Flop: (8 SB) 4d, 8d, Jc (5 players) SB checks, Jeff checks, UTG checks, MP1 bets, SB calls, Jeff calls, UTG calls. Turn: (6 BB) 3s (5 players) SB checks, Jeff bets, UTG folds, MP1 raises, SB folds, Jeff calls. River: (10 BB) 8s (3 players) Jeff bets. |

Re: Gosu or chobo?
You're in pretty good shape on this flop and might well be ahead. The board is has no draws other than the straights around J8 so the lead into the preflop raiser defines your hand as pretty strong. In fact it'll be read a bit stronger than it actually is. So the action behind you will give you a very good idea of where you're at, much more than checking to the pfr and calling his autobet. You also have the bonus of getting occasional folds of hands like A9, K9, and frequent folds of one overcard to your 8 which goes a long way to protect your hand. If someone raises and bets the turn you can fold pretty safely unimproved. Especially if the pfr is good enough or just passive enough to take a freecard on the flop when he should, I think its good to bet this flop.
Edit: I'm bad at reading the board. I thought the flop was three-tone not two-tone and the 4 was something lower. I still like the bet, but less. |

Hasu
I think check-raising the river would be good.

Re: Gosu or chobo?
Your best hope I think is to check/fold the turn. On the turn you are getting 9:1 (after you bet out) with a dubious 5 outer, so I suppose you created the odds to draw, but only through making a mistake in the first place. If you are going to play this spot aggressively your best bet is to check raise the flop and lead the turn. This
A) might cause UTG to fold a jack B) might cause the preflop raiser to incorrectly fold or call on the turn with AK C) could cause UTG to fold a hand like Q10 on the flop that you definitely want out, especially if all the preflop raiser has is overcards. D) Lets you know you're beat by three bets on the flop, instead of one on the flop and two on the turn. |
