take a free showdown and pray

most players at the micros are scared to hell of being bluffed out of a pot. lay into them when you have something. when you find a player that will make this laydown, pick on them all night. until then, value bet your brains out.

Nope. I'm not keen on the flop play unless you have a read, and if you have a read to raise the flop your read should also tell you to check the river.

Betting here sucks imo. You have the nut no pair, and he will probably fire away with any pair after you check behind on 4th and blanks hit. My guess is that he has JT so check behind and take it down.

When BB bet the flop, I suspect that he had something like Ax or a straight draw such as JT.

You seemed to have gained a free card by raising on the flop, but I dont see you being called by a weaker hand on the river. (That is J high or less)

So I think you may as well check behind on the river, because I expect that BB will probably call with a hand like Ax and simply fold a hand like JT that missed a straight draw.

So I dont think that you will win more by betting, but risk losing an extra bet if you are behind.

What kind of game conditions do you need to start bluffing and pulling more complicated moves than value betting?

If my life depended on having to try to bluff this hand, I'd much rather take my shot on 4th street.

To answer your title question, yes you can bluff at the micros...rarely

In this particular hand you posted I don't think you can bluff because someone bet the flop. I bluffed against two other guys one time with pocket 9's when the board had two face cards on it. I had a read on the other two guys tho: They were both LAG's (according to PT) and would bet if they had any part of the board, otherwise they would check. They checked/called me all the way (I had position on them) and folded to my river bet. I guess it wasn't a complete bluff since I had a pair, but ehhh.
