Check-call if he's aggressive (busted flush). Bet-fold if he's passive.

Bet out if they are a calling station (and fold to a raise).

Check and call if you think they might try to bluff you (either from a bluff-raise or betting with air... or a worse hand).

So you would fold even though you are getting 7 to 1 for a single bet heads-up? It seems to me if you put in the bet then you would HAVE to call.

Not really.
A busted flush/straight draw will fold.
I can see an 8 a 5 or a weak J calling.
But we can't beat anything that raises.
