Default Party 400 Top set on monochrome board

Hello All,

3rd orbit since I sat down, I have played 3 hands, taking 2 down on the flop and folding to a c/r on the 3rd..

Villian has been active playing lots of hands, but folding to aggression a lot.

I have $343 behind (bought in for $300), and have the villian covered.

2 limpers (including villian) to me in LP w/ QQ, I raise to $20, both call.

Flop ($66) Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

2 checks to me, I bet $40, 1 limper folds, Viillian min raises to $80.

Hero?

What do you think the min check/raise means?

If you like calling what do you do if he pushes on a blank?

If you like pushing, what do you put him on?

Regards,
Woodguy

edit: If this belongs in small stakes, please let me know

push, you're only a 2-1 dog when he's ahead and giving him another card for 40 bucks is no good here

It could be anything from a lone ace, bluff, Qx, etc... because of his stack just put it all in. If you both have 1000 in front then you probably just call....

Thanks.

I pushed.

The min-raise ended up being T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], but I showed him by spiking a 4 on the turn.

I was concerned that I got it all in when behind, and didn't read a min-raise as a made flush and was curious as to others experiences.

I am mainly a SnG and MTT NLHE players, so I am still unsure of some of my reads in cash games.

Thanks,
Woodguy

minraises in cash mean different things for different players, the best thing to do is take notes. So this guy check-minraises with a flush on a monontone flop, etc...write down things of this nature, and you can eventually get an idea of what they are thinking when they are playing. The stack sizes make it an easy no brainer, you just get it all in there. It's a lot more difficult when you have 1k behind, turn is a brick for you, villain leads for pot, etc...

There have been a ton of threads recently about minraising, you could look some of them up...
