Default hi all!!

Hi guys, first time poster, long time lurker.

My first post is a question of how to play these two 4handed situations:

#Game No : 2432335155
***** Hand History for Game 2432335155 *****
NL Texas Hold'em $10 Buy-in + $1 Entry Fee Trny:14302296 Level:4 Blinds(50/100) - Wednesday, July 27, 09:30:53 EDT 2005
Table Table 35278 (Real Money)
Seat 10 is the button
Total number of players : 4
Seat 4: wolverine305 ( $1260 )
Seat 5: poker4040 ( $3090 )
<font color="red"> Seat 7: hero ( $2570 )
</font> <font color="blue"> Seat 10: villain ( $1080 ) </font>
Trny:14302296 Level:4
Blinds(50/100)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to hero [ Qc Ac ]
<font color="red"> hero raises [325]. </font>
<font color="blue"> villian calls [325]. </font>
wolverine305 folds.
poker4040 folds.

** Dealing Flop ** [ Js, Jh, 7c ]

The pot is 800 here and he has 755 left

<font color="red"> hero bets [375]. </font>
<font color="blue"> villian calls [375]. </font>

I miss and make a 1/2 pot bet. I figure if he calls Im probably behind. His call commits him to the pot, should i bet smaller so I can get away from it? Is it possible to check fold this flop in a 10+1?

** Dealing Turn ** [ 6d ]

<font color="red"> hero bets [425]. </font>
<font color="blue"> villian is all-In [380] </font>

I cant see check folding this getting 3:1 odds. If he checks through and the river is a blank Im in the same situation, right?

** Dealing River ** [ 5h ]

tull5744 checks.

<font color="blue"> villan calls [125]. </font>
tull5744 folds.

The board looked ragged yet scary so I made a bluff, I thought it was ok considering I had just check/folded my last BB (to the same villian).

** Dealing Turn ** [ 6s ]
<font color="red"> hero is all-In [695]
</font> <font color="blue"> villan calls [695]. </font>

I had 14 outs if he didnt hold a 6 or 2...or a higher flushdraw (2pr, trips, flush), Im shortstacked and need this pot, plus I thought I had some FE. Too bold of a play?

** Dealing River ** [ Kc ]

You contuination betting half Villain's stack is really bad. If you bet, you want to put the rest of his stack in the middle. Or you can check-fold.

I stab this pot though, and I move it in.

1)push preflop.
2)I check/fold this. When I bluff, I usually bluff all-in with some math ( well I see him calling me with this and this which he holds like 20% of the time, I push)

In hand #1, I think that you should put the villain all in on the flop.

- Any respectable bet needs to be at least 300 chips (probably more) and if he just calls, you're committed to the hand based on odds, no matter what turn card comes.
- If you push now, he may fold a better hand like a lower pair or AK
- I don't know why he would call off 30% of his stack preflop without pushing, so he's probably an idiot in the first place, and he might call with a worse hand like KQ or AT.

For hand #2, I think you're better off checking, folding, and waiting for a better spot.

- Your stack is short, but not miserably short, and you still have enough chips to steal blinds with.
- You don't really have enough good outs for a semi-bluff, so if either villain has a hand, you're just throwing away chips.
- If you really want this pot, I think a checkraise bluff would be more effective. However, I'd be hesitant to use it unless you know that the last villain to act is a tight player and will probe bet this pot when checked to him. If he bets 100-200ish, you can checkraise push and likely fold off most of his hands by representing a 2 in the blind.

Also, dude, the red and blue text for hero and villain... nice effort.

Pushing preflop with 25 BBs into a 30 BB stack is horrible.

In hand 1 I'm moving allin on the flop. You can't get off the hand here anyway, so you may as well apply the maximum pressure.

You will win about 25% of the time against a 7, and you are clearly getting the right pot odds to draw after sticking 375 chips in the pot. Of course he could have a jack but he could have any number of hands as well.

True, but the 30BB stack would need a monster to call you. The others are at or around 10BB, it's not really horrible.

This is some terrible advice. Pushing 25x BB is quite horrible. Nothing wrong with making a play on hand 2 either.

Hand One: Standard raise is good. I continue the flop just like you did and probably fold the turn if he bets...
putting him on a pocket pair. Also I prefer a raise to 275 preflop to control the pot size a bit.

Hand Two: I don't mind your line here either. I might check the turn though to get some more info. If he min bets I would be suspicious but I think you have to call and see what happens on the river. If he bets half his stack I would fold... He definitely has a hand if he is betting for value like this. If he pushes I would call, he would do this because he thinks you are bluffing and he wants to get you off when he has nothing himself. Moving in on the turn isn't bad though.. you are exchanging less information for possible FE.
