Default How would you play these Kings

I am just starting off playing poker. Last 2 tourneys have ended early with kings.

In the first hand I bet the flop because I had an overpair and I did not want to give flush/strait draws the right ods to hang around. On the turn another club comes, I check he bets a little. I think he could have a flush right now. But the odds are too good. Then I make flush King High, dont know why I bet like that, the only leverage I have is all in . If he has Ac I am screwed. But he could have TcJc,

In the second hand should I have just called his first reraise and seen if an Ace came on the flop. Bet out either way and then if he calls play cautiously.

Hand 1: Your preflop raise is too small and your flop bet is too small. Preflop, raise to 175 or more. You want to isolate, or take it down right now (which always feels sucky until you lose your stack by betting too little). Preflop, original raiser is getting nearly 3:1 odds to call. Yuk.

On this flop, just push. SitNGos are pedal to the metal poker.

Hand 2: I would have moved allin faster. What took you so long?

Good luck at the tables.

This is true. My pace is all off. At the beginning I might not be agressive enough, at the end I seem to be too agressive.
As for the flop bet I though I bet I thought I bet 300 into a 400 pot. That gives him 7 to 3 ods. Thats 2.3 to 1 still not bad enough ?? He is 4 to 1 to a flush on the next card.
Thanks for your help man.

This is unlikely. Most players aren't aggressive enough at the end of SNGs. (It's possible that you're picking bad spots for your aggression, but late, when you play, you play very aggressively. And pocket kings are pretty much never a bad spot.)

Did you happen to notice that these are Stars, not Party, SNG's? You want him to push something like 3x pot to lead the flop? I'd like to think we can extract a little more with K's. I think the first hand was actually played quite well, he just got unlucky and ran into A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Most of the time he's getting that guy's stack here, which I'm not sure pushing on the flop accomplishes.

Also,

What does this accomplish, in your opinion? EDIT: This is as good a place as any to put this. After this kind of preflop raising battle, I'm expecting to see AA quite often. Some rough estimating on my part suggests that it is correct to fold KK here if you think he has AA 2/3 of the time. I realize that folding KK PF is not something that people do at low level SNGs, but I think this is a case where one can at least consider it. (I still call unless I know the player I'm up against quite well, but I think this is actually reasonably close.)

This is actually an excellent reason to bet the river as you did. You have the second nuts (EDIT: missed the straight flush possibilities, but I don't think we really need to worry about 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and the naked A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] beats us anyway), and you'd like to get paid off by worse hands. If you push, it increases the chances that your opponent can find a fold with a weaker flush, and you don't get the Ac to fold anyway. If you bet small, you'll probably get called by a wider range of hands, and some worse hands might even try to come over the top of you. With as strong a hand as you have, you're not trying to push people out of the pot now, as the only hand you're interested in getting out of the pot will never fold. So I liked your river play. I think Scuba is right that you should probably reraise a little more PF, but other than that I'm pretty happy with how you played this hand.

I do agree that I should have raised more preflop. What kind of odds should I give in this situation? 2 to 1? He was getting the right odds to stick around with AX preflop.
