Default Tropicana 2-5NL I GOT SCREWED and i need a ruling

before i begin this post i wanna start by saying that i should have folded preflop and many actions i took during this hand were terrible..i kno this...that being said this isnt a post about a hand, but rather a technicality that happened during the course of the hand..... im bb a solid tight aggressive player makes it 25...one caller..i call holding AQs.. $75 in the pot. All stacks are at 500 or just a tad under...flop akj rainbow...i check, orig. raiser makes it 50..other dude folds, i call..turn j making the board akjj with two spades out there giving me the nut flush draw....i had been playing tight aggressive all day and ive played against my opponent before...i check and he makes it 100...i know he did not like that jack and i feel as tho i can make him fold this hand, i think for a short time and go all in making it 244 more to him on top of that 100....he is now deep in the think tank for about 2 long ass minutes...its looking like he's ready to fold the handhe takes his cards turns them face up exposing AK puts them between his fingers and throws them in the air in disgust towards the dealer..one card actuially hits the dealers hand and lands face down, the other face up,, they are actaully sitting right where i n the circle where the rake is taken,,it is obvious to the table that he has just folded his hand. the dealer and my dumbass proceed to ask him at almost the same time, "do you fold", by saying this he now knows that i would have preferred him to fold this hand, so he says "no i didnt fold yet" meanwhile the cards are not even within distance for him to reach from his chair, they are now both face up after the dealer has turned the one face up..he was absoultely folding this hand...after all this thinking he now tkaes 5 seconds to sayt, i call...i stop the dealer immediatly and ask for the floor before the river comes out...as you all might probably know, if things have gone down at the table,, the floor usually doesnt do [censored] about it and they basically tell u to stick it, they tell me its not a fold and bla bla bla river comes seven of clubs and i miss my outs..i continue to argue to no avail, the people on my table all know he meant to fold n feel bad for me i leave and go steam off another 500 or so online ... does anybody have any kind of ruling on this or even heard of something like this,,doesnt sound like a bad idea to do when im in his situation, he got information out of me that he shold not have gotten.. any comments about this or anything?

If what you say is true(if he actually threw the cards towards the dealer, and hit he his/her hand) there is no question you got rooked. Next time dont say anything, hold your cards and look at the dealer expecting the pot to be shoved your way.

My first suggestion is to use paragraphs and complete sentences. My next one is to not play poker when you're upset. My third suggestion is the same as the other replies.

yeah that is some complete BS - it just shows to us the idiots who work in americas casinos.... they think they know, but they really don't - all they care about is getting tips, who tips them, and yes, they'll favor them in a heartbeat - ive seen it tons of times in cardrooms.. the floor coming in for a decision - only to screw the young kid over who knows the rules much better than any of the old hags at the table or dealer or running the room... complete BS! Forget about, its done, I once had QQs up at a 1-5 stud mucked when i first started playing(the guy caught the case Q for 1 pair on the river). I guess the dealer saw my QQ a K kicker and saw his QQ A kicker, missed my QQ 55. What it boils down to, think the rule is on ever poker romm in america, players must protect there hand.

I should have been more carefull, the cards where flipped,I saw his pair and just gave my cards to the dealer not really seeing what was happeing. The pot was not coming my way! When a player mucks the pot is yours, act like it, same if a dealer misreads a hand.

The dealers are human as much as I complain about dealers we must understand that these things happen. Protecting your hand means alot more then not letting the person next to you see your hole cards.

you got screwed dude. once the cards are tossed...and actually make contact with the dealer...he has mucked.
why they ruled differently is beyond me but it doesn't seem like things were explained very well to the floor because I just can't understand why they would rule otherwise.

1. don't say "do you fold?" that's just silly. he folded. you win. act that way.

2. why on earth did you write your post in such a fashion that it is so difficult to read? it was VERY difficult making it through that mess.

This pretty much sums it up.

Never have I heard of something so silly as a player AND a dealer to ask, "do you fold" when someone turns up a hand and tosses their cards towards the dealer. It's a fold. He's tossing his cards in, not pushing his chips in.

You got screwed for sure, should have been ruled a mucked hand. For you non-tippers, just a simple example of a situation where a dealer may not be in your corner because you have been stiffing all night. (Not saying you were, just making a point)

It would have been one thing if he had turned them up in front of his chips. Having thrown them in all the way to the dealer without announcing call, the dealer should have immediately mucked them.

One thing you could have done, was say, "Great laydown, I had AJ."

Why on Earth would you be asking if he folded after he threw them all the way to the dealer? Something isn't right here.
