Re: Big cards OOP
Hand #1 check the turn, river is fine.
Hand #2 check/call river, check/fold isn't bad. Reads help. |

**grunch**
Both hands play out the same way. If you are showing aggression like you are and you check the river, you are inviting your opponent to bet against you. Keep leading out and you may get them to fold. Especially, heads up like you are on the river. If he raises, then you have to think about whether your hand is best or not. So far, they don't show you that they are stronger. Also, you said your opponents are loose, but are they tight or aggressive? This plays a big part in your decision making. |

Hand #2 check/call river, check/fold isn't bad. [/ QUOTE ] You think he should check/call with A high in a small pot? How often do you think A high is good here? |

[/ QUOTE ] If it's not 1 in 6.5 times I suspect it's close. Check/fold isn't terrible. Betting isn't good because he won't fold a better hand and won't call with a worse hand. |

Re: Big cards OOP
Grunch -
Play seems fine to me, except a little too loose on the turn. 1) Check-call turn. No fold equity and it's probably -EV if you get raised. Pot is smallish. Mabye even check-fold the turn. 2) I check-fold this turn. If the pot were bigger, I'd check-call. I think unimproved AK is worth about two small bets after the flop (on average). Once it hits the turn, you are most likely drawing to top pair, so the pot has to be big enough to draw to about 4-5 outs or so (I don't think reverse domination applies to the king as much as the ace). |
