Re: Ten preflop examples. How do you play them?
Here's how I play the following, which is probably off of standard. I am still learning the ins and outs of SH myself.
laggo raises from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, AJo........... Raise ATs........... Raise KQo........... Fold 88............ Raise lapboy calls from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, A7o........... Fold KTo........... Fold K8s........... Fold QJo........... Fold Q9s........... Fold 55............ Fold Haupt_234 |

Re: Ten preflop examples. How do you play them?
a little will depend on what position Laggo raised from and how he plays post flop, but I lean towards 3 betting all those hands against him.
against lapboy (love that term, lol) A7o I fold KTo, I call or raise (depending on how he plays post flop, and whether the blinds are tight) K8s, fold or call, usually call, sometimes raise QJo just call if blinds are loose, otherwise raise Q9s call 55 usually fold, but depends on how lapboy and the blinds play postflop |

laggo raises from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, [/ QUOTE ] AJo........... Raise ATs........... Raise KQo........... Raise 88............ Raise I think these are ultra standard 3bets vs this player. You are way ahead of his range, have him dominated fairly often, and you have position and a good shot to get it headsup. [ QUOTE ] lapboy calls from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, [/ QUOTE ] Note that here if I say raise usually, the tighter the blinds, the more often I raise A7o........... Raise usually, sometimes call, somtimes fold. Very likely to raise tight blinds. KTo........... Raise almost always. K8s........... Call almost exclusively. QJo........... Raise almost always Q9s........... Usually call. 55............ Call if blinds are loose/passive, raise if they are tight, fold if they are aggro. -Mike |

Re: Ten preflop examples. How do you play them?
First 4 are easy raises. Way easy.
A7o and KTo I usually fold unless I am first in. Your last 4 seem to be pretty easy limps, although I *might* raise the pockets 5s. |

First 4 are easy raises. Way easy. [/ QUOTE ] The others are really walking the line. Since they aren't clear plays to me, it's totally dependant on the flow of the game and table condidtions, I do a smattering of things with all of the hands. |

Raise, except maybe the K8s, though I could do anything with that hand.

Re: Ten preflop examples. How do you play them?
I am unsure in these situations. When I'm not sure whether a play is profitable or not I usually try to err on the tight side. No point in clicking for EV=0. I'll post my answers before reading the ones posted thus far.
laggo raises from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, AJo........... fold ATs........... fold KQo........... fold 88............ raise lapboy calls from EP. You are on BU. How do you play, A7o........... raise KTo........... raise K8s........... raise QJo........... raise Q9s........... raise 55............ call EDIT: I've definetly learned that I should play more hands against laggo. With the hand examples I gave I've figured I'm probably dominating him a bit more often than he is dominating me. But, investing 3SB is a lot of money, 12 hands worth of blinds. Sometimes a blind player has me dominated. Then the cost is 4SB. I rather wait until I have a clear edge. I guess I'm wrong somewhere. I can think of two places: "I'm probably dominating him a bit more often than he is dominating me" maybe alot more. But 20% pfr is not thaat much and he is UTG... "Sometimes a blind player has me dominated." Yes, but the other times the blinds have rags and will juice the pot with 1.5SB. This more than makes up for the infrequent domination from their side? Feel free to tell me where I'm wrong/EDIT |
