I felt like I should be folding, because I am behind to JT, 99 and 33 but I have a sort of general rule to not fold top 2 pair when I am getting better than 2-1 heads up. Is 2pair just an illusion?

in these situations,I don't think the K helped you and I don't think he check pushes with AQ.

so you have to ask yourself whether he will do this with a draw.

if the answer is no, then fold.

I realized after a long time that 2pair is basically about as good as Top Pair - better than ace kicker.

Yes, I think I still have too much willingness to call from my previous experience on the $1 table where this raise could easily be lower 2pair or just top pair. But this is not the case on the $5 table.
