First time here... my first question
Hello all. My first time posting at 2 + 2. So far I really enjoy the site. I really appreciate how everyone here is so friendly and willing to help. This is my first post and hopefully I'll have many more to come.
I've been playing poker for several years now. I play home games with my buddies, NL tournies, winner take all. I also play at PokerStars, until now I played exclusively at the 10 dollar SnGs. But I want to start getting into cash games. Limit hold'em. I've been reading up on SSHE trying improve my limit game. I really don't have much experience playing limit poker. My question is where should I start? Should I continue playing at Stars at the limit games? My PokerStars bankroll is at a near $300 dollars. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. JT |

Re: First time here... my first question
start from the bottom, and work your way up, thats all I can say.
Maybe not at .02/.04, but def .05/.1, every time you feel you are going strong, and have 300 big bets (BB's) for the next limit, move up. I'm on the GregJ plan, you should give it a looksie too (though the granny bonus is no more) |

New account. Party. Initial deposit bonus. Beginners tables. Play tight. Nut peddle. You just about can't lose.

Re: First time here... my first question
$300 is a good start. I would hold off signing up for Party until you have $500 so you can take full advantage of the deposit bonus. Paradise still has a pretty decent $50 signup. And some of the Prima skins seem to have decent bonuses (thought I STILL have never played there -- I will get around to it eventually).
Oh yeah, welcome and such... |

Re: First time here... my first question
Definately whore PP bonuses to the max. Playing a very weak/tight game at .5/1 you can turn a breakeven to small profit while clearing a fat bonus, will help your bankroll alot early.
Then I say stick to small limit games, like .5/.1 or .25/.5 until you have played oh say 10K hands and make sure you're a winner (hope you have PT). Then just move up. |
