Tough spot pre-flop with QQ
Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed) http://216.119.70.224/converter/hhconverter.pl
UTG+1 ($49.50) UTG+2 ($46.80) MP1 ($45.25) MP2 ($10) MP3 ($48.75) CO ($26.45) Button ($19.15) SB ($39.50) BB ($49.50) Hero ($58.10) Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50. Hero raises to $2.5, 7 folds, SB calls $2.25, 1 fold, Hero... Hmmm... the HH screwed up. MP2 pushed for $10 and the SB called, so the action was back on me. I had no reads on the SB in this hand. I figured that the short stack likely had a mid-pair or a decent ace, but SB's call of an EP raiser and a MP pusher had me worried. Your move? |

Re: Tough spot pre-flop with QQ
And when the flop comes 8 high and SB bets into me? What range of hands do you put villain on that I shouldn't be pushing here?

Re: Tough spot pre-flop with QQ
push. if he has AA/KK this pot is going to be big on the flop and you're going to have a tough time folding anyway. he likely has AK, which you don't want seeing the flop.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I don't like this that much because SB probably still calls that with AK (the pot will be laying him 2:1). I prefer calling and getting aggressive on a flop without an A or K (and not letting SB see all five cards). Anyone agree? |

[/ QUOTE ] You want SB to call with AK, you are winning. The reasons not push are if SB has AA or KK. I think this is a push, because I think there is a decent chance SB has AK, JJ, 1010. If he has AA or KK I think you have to pay him off. I don't think you are getting away from the hand anyway if undercards hit, so push. |

SB will call with AK 90% of the time when you push. i meant you don't want him seeing the flop when he still has money on the table. |

Re: Tough spot pre-flop with QQ
If you call, AA/KK gets your stack on a low flop anyway, so either raise or fold (hint raise).
