2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
Sup Small Stakers -
I've only been here for a couple of orbits, but villian seems pretty straightforward. He's been folding a lot and getting good cards, playing AA/QQ fast. I don't have enough info to know if he'd bet AK UI - am I throwing $ away on the turn? What if the flop weren't monotone - how do you play it differently than you normally would? Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB raises, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls. Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
I'd really be considering a 3 bet pre-flop. You're in perfect position to get this HU. If the raise had come from somehwere else, sure, the call is fine.
Rest looks fine. |

Oh, I'd also consider raiseing the flop.

Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
I thought about that - but I had seen one of the players to my left coldcall with K7s before, so I didn't see him folding. Thanks

Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
I like your play throughout the hand.
I like the flat call on the flop since no big [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] is going anywhere, I like the turn raise on a safe card, making a big [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] pay a lot to catch their frush, and I especially like the river check behind: I don't see much that SB will call with here that you beat. nh, imo. |

Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
Interestingly, the turn card may have been a very good one for you.
If SB had, say, A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], the addition of the wheel draw on the turn may have contributed to his decision to bet again. |

Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
I like your line throughout the hand. However, if there's a chance to get this hand HU (and with 4 limpers there prolly isn't), then 3-betting PF is correct. raising the flop gains no value and does not protect the hand.

raising the flop gains no value and does not protect the hand. [/ QUOTE ] A single ace, king or queen would not be justified in calling 2 bets to see this turn. |

Re: 2/4 Debut - 99 Hand
Really? They'd be getting much better than 4.1:1, can you explain?

Really? They'd be getting much better than 4.1:1, can you explain? [/ QUOTE ] 4:1? When Hero calls the flop, thhat puts 14 sb's in the pot which would be a call for a single overcard. If he raise, its cut in half. I'm not saying the raise is right or that Hero is ahead. But I think dismiss this possiblity too quickly. |
