Haven't played long but MP2 seems rather loose and passive. Anyone bet this river? river card is not very scary but he might have been slowplaying something.

Yup, I bet it.

You'll get paid off by any pair and maybe even ace high; you would have heard from an 8 on the turn.

Hmm... is this bet really that easy? I guess i'm missing something here just because i did check it down and lost to a very odd hand, A4h for a rivered gutshot. what if i bet this and get raised, do i safely fold?

I had another situation like this the other night, i forget the exact hand. I had either an overpair or top pair top kicker and stopped betting the river after a backdoor flush came on the river. I forget if there were straight possibilities or not but I checked it down and ended up losing to the backdoor flush. I knew i shouldn't have been scared of that and I should have bet. Sometimes it's weird when you make the wrong play but are rewarded for it.

You are being results oriented. If you bet and got raised, I think I'd call.

yes, bet it, and pay off the raise. Would have cost you this time but it's a winning play in the long run.
