Re: If you\'re a bad girl....
Yea these spots suck. What do you think about simply calling the flop and then betting out at decent turn cards? I mean you wouldn't normally check-raise that flop with ace and your opponent may realize that.

Re: If you\'re a bad girl....
Tough hand...
PREFLOP: I don't hate this call from the BB, especially 5 handed from a CO raiser. However, it could be argued that you might want to save these types of calls for Button raisers and/or when you know your opponent a little better. With a raise from the MP here, it's unclear if it it's more of a steal attempt or a legit hand. FLOP: IMO, check-raising like you did here is decent option, as long as you intend on leading the turn because the villain's rarely folding for one more bet on the flop here, but may fold if another blank falls on the turn and he thinks you may have an ace. Another line I'm thinking of for the flop: lead out, then lead the turn again. It's potentially a little cheaper if you're behind. However, villain may be more likely to auto-raise the flop, then you don't know where you are.... actually.... the more I think about it, I like check-raising the flop as you did (for many reasons). TURN: as discussed above, your turn bet is pretty much standard given the action thus far. RIVER: Your fold is probably good, but still debatable. Check/call is another option. Given the action thus far, villain often has an Ace, Queen or higher pocket pair. However, did you think of the possibility of villain holding a broken flush draw, or the likes of KJ, KT, JT, lower pocket pair.... depending on the opponent, this may be possible, and he's just totally bluffing at the river. After all, if he has an ace, why didn't he 3-bet the flop or raise the turn? Adam |
