Default The Hands We\'re Proud Of Thread

It seems like many posters are in a downswingy funk, including me. When I'm running well, I always have energy to do research and look for areas where I can fine tune my game. But when I'm running poorly, I get lazy and spend more time away from poker, thinking that I 'need to clear my head.' So this thread will contain hands that will give people ideas and concepts to work on while in the downward spiral.

Everyone who opens this thread must post a hand they are proud of. But it can't be any old dragging a monster pot hand, it should be a hand that illustrates a concept or some 'thing' you've been thinking about lately. If we get a bunch of hands together people will start to get ideas where they can finetune their game and hopefully shift the focus from the cashier window to playing well.

I'll go first. I've been looking for situations where I can semi-bluff raise a tight player capable of folding mid-street:

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (4.40 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.20 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB folds.

Final Pot: 6.20 BB

I read the board g00t. I also should have bet the turn. This is when you know you're too tired to keep playing (happened tonight, about 20 mins ago).

Im in BB with:
7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

CO raises. I call and it is headsup. CO is a pretty good pokerplayer, raising from CO with a lot of hands. We both know the other one makes a living playing poker.

Flop:
Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet knowing he is capable of folding if he got nothing. He raise. I call.

Turn:
2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check. He bets. I call.

River:
9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I bet. He folds.

Ok I have a few of mine own from the past day or two.

Opponent is tough, fairly tight, capable of making laydowns:
4 handed 50/100.
I raise JTo from the button, BB calls. Flop AK8. He c/r me I call. Turn J. I raise his bet he folds.

Another hand:
50/100 6-handed.
I raise JJ UTG, UTG+1 3 bets. SB calls I call.
Qh2h6s flop. We all call UTG+1's bet. 8d turn. UTG+1 bets, SB calls, I raise, UTG+1 folds, SB calls. River Jd and SB folds to my bet. Quite likely the turn c/r got UTG+1 to erroneously fold AK.

Letting the maniac help me (this hand was from a month ago but it's still one of my favs):
50/100 7-handed.
I raise 87d UTG+1. Button cold calls, and both blinds call. SB is a total maniac. Flop Kc8h6h. SB bets, BB calls, I call, button calls. Turn Tc. SB bets, BB calls, I raise, button folds, SB 3 bets, BB folds, I call. 4h river. I call SB's bet and beat his J9o for a 15BB pot.

This one is called stupidity at its finest. Oh no point 3 betting its a split pot.

This is why you think about things when you play instead of autopilot.

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $15.
UTG (poster) checks, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (8.66 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.33 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, Button calls.

River: (9.33 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 13.33 BB

I only learn from mistakes not from good play.

Opponent was a TAG or pseudo-TAG and was definitely annoyed with what seemed to be an auto-steal from the SB in the last hand or two.

I'm sure that this is going to set some people off, perhaps justifiably so . . . but I figured I had odds for the raise.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter

"Hero" checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, "Hero" calls.

Turn: (4 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
