I hate minraises and usually chastise people who make them. The one I make on the river of this hand is the only one I can honestly remember ever making outside of a tournament where the blinds are very high and stacks are very short.

river minraise is fine.
I don't like the turn. you must make it $2 on the turn. |

I raise this turn the majority of the time (probably about 85-90%); this time I didn't. I don't think its colossally wrong not to. A larger heart draw has only 5 outs (about 10:1 which isn't the price he's getting) instead of the nine he's expecting and I can stack him if I make my straight flush. A set or two pair would've let itself be known by now so the board pairing is rarely going to hurt me. I raise here and I pick up a very small pot most of the time (in the actual case, perhaps I could've stacked my opponent, but you don't run into enough 62's to count heavily on that). By calling, I can probably get some more money out of somebody on the river (not to mention that someone might checkraise the weak turn bet and I can win a big pot that way).

and I can stack him if I make my straight flush. [/ QUOTE ] you say that cuz u made your str8 flush. you woulda been stacked (or at least ur "min raise" at most if u can lay it down) had a different [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hit. |

[/ QUOTE ] I get stacked here exactly 0% of the time. I'm in position. If a heart hit and someone pots it, I'm positive they have a flush and I'm folding. If its checked to me, I'm value betting and folding to a checkraise. |

Min raise the turn.
I think Cloutier said (paraphrase): 'Don't slowplay the nuts, because someone else might be slowplaying a hand he only thinks is the nuts.' If you don't want to scare someone away, at least give them a chance to raise you. A small raise accomplishes that nicely. |
