Default easy laydown or time to take a stand?

here's a hand i witnessed 6 handed 15-30 live game. a sometimes laggy mediocre player raises utg +1, button older guy mediocre fairly tight 3 bets w/ QQ, bb who is a a2c passive fish calls two cold. utg+1 calls.

the flop is A92 rainbow. checked to QQ who bets, bb calls, utg+1 checkraises, both call.

turn is a K. bb checks, utg+1 bets, what should button do?

hi mike

great post. it's a raise or call situation as you describe it on paper, and of course, assuming that we don't know the SB holding. raising seems a bit much. calling though looks o.k. looks like a call.

Button still has a player behind him, and there is a decent chance that one of the other players has an ace.He has 4 bets invested so far. Does he want to double his investment to see the end of this? I fold.

"FOLD."

that's what i was thinking too, but he called! i couldnt believe it. the river was a T and he called again. it just seemed so bad with the bb in still to act on the turn (bb folded the turn). not just kind of bad but horrifically bad.

The money he has invested so far has absolutely nothing to do with the decision at hand.

Button should fold, you should take a seat or get on the board.

Fold. I can take one overcard against two other players, but two (when they are ace and king, with someone behind me to act) is too much. I pick a better spot to fight....

yeah so the button called him down. of course you all figured out by now that utg was me and of course i did not have the A that i so perfectly represented.

when the bb called the flop i decided to make the play at the pot, if the bb had folded i wouldve folded. i will play differently against the button from now on. i gave him too much credit.

No, you should take a seat or get on the board; you'd be $120 better off than mike.
