wtf is going on with him?
Lack of juice? His OPS this season is 200 points lower then his absurd career average. |

Re: Todd Helton
Getting off the juice - does that make you worse than you were before you take steroids? Because the guy should at least hit .300, especially in Coors. He's been a .300 hitter at every level.

Re: Todd Helton
he's only a a career .295 hitter on the road.
everything says no to juice- never a true power hitter (line drive guy with max 46ish hrs I think), skinny, deeply religious (he sports the wooden cross outside of his uniform shirt)- but then there's that cardinals announcer... its just a weird slump/pitchers have figured out a weakness situation I think |

Re: Todd Helton
his hit rate (% of balls in play that fall for hits) is way down this year (28% as opposed to 35-38% average), so he may just be hitting the ball at people.
as for the power, beats me. could have something to do w/ a lack of protection in the lineup |

WTF? "Lack of Juice?" You have to be [censored] kidding me. You're smarter than that, TSC.

Why are you so convinced he wasn't on the juice?

Why are you so convinced he wasn't on the juice? [/ QUOTE ] That wasn't my point. My point was that if he was on the juice, he's certainly not off of it now. I don't think he's on the juice, though. He's a tall, skinny, goofy white guy that was a quarterback. Edit: he's also a superlative defender. If you look at all of the "roids" candidates, none of them were ever very good defenders. I think Helton's most similar to a guy like A-Rod. |

he's only a a career .295 hitter on the road. [/ QUOTE ] The Coors hangover effect has been well documented. Our best guess of Helton's true average is somewhere slightly below his Coors average. |
