A little validation, pleeze
I had a big upswing today (4 buy-ins!) after about a week of getting my ass handed to me - I just want to post a few hands I ran into over the last week to get some thoughts.. unlike this one which is whining/indicative of this last week.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter MP1 ($25) MP2 ($24.05) MP3 ($22.35) CO ($10.4) Button ($42) SB ($24.75) BB ($34.24) Hero ($25) UTG+1 ($24.25) UTG+2 ($16.75) Preflop: Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1. Hero calls $0.25, UTG+1 raises to $2, 4 folds, Button calls $2, SB (poster) calls $1.90, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.75. Flop: ($8.25) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets $1, Hero raises to $6, UTG+1 calls $6, Button calls $6, SB calls $5. Turn: ($32.25) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero calls $17 (All-In), UTG+1 calls $16.25 (All-In), Button calls $17, SB calls $16.75 (All-In). River: ($99.25) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players, 3 all-in) Final Pot: $99.25 Results: SB has Ks Kc (one pair, kings). Hero has Td Tc (three of a kind, tens). UTG+1 has Ah As (three of a kind, aces). Button has Qs Qh (one pair, queens). Outcome: UTG+1 wins $97.25. Hero wins $2. Stupid poker. Anyway, more hands coming in response to this one. |

Hand 1 - KK
Villain is 87/12 over 24 hands.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter SB ($21.65) BB ($53.8) UTG ($34) UTG+1 ($24.75) Hero ($28.25) MP2 ($17.3) MP3 ($27.15) CO ($32.6) Button ($24.65) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1. UTG calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.25, 2 folds, CO calls $1.25, 1 fold, SB (poster) calls $1.15, 1 fold, UTG calls $1. Flop: ($5.25) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB bets $3, UTG folds, Hero raises to $10, CO folds, SB calls $7. Turn: ($25.25) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB calls $10.40 (All-In), Hero...? I'm pretty much pot-committed here, but if he was pushing for, say, $25, can I call this? I'm assuming everyone will say I need to call for the $10.40. |

Re: A little validation, pleeze
Raise to $8 on the flop. Otherwise, looks great.

Hand 2 - QQ
I've been having lots of trouble with one pair hands, here's one example.
Villain is 21/6 over 33 hands. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter MP1 ($24.75) Hero ($42.45) MP3 ($43.5) CO ($20.55) Button ($61.2) SB ($17.9) BB ($40.9) UTG ($24.5) UTG+1 ($48.9) UTG+2 ($18.25) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.1. 4 folds, Hero raises to $1, 1 fold, CO calls $1, Button calls $1, 2 folds. Flop: ($3.35) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $2.5, CO raises to $5, Button folds, Hero calls $2.50. Turn: ($13.35) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $5, CO calls $14.55 (All-In), Hero...? Did I go too far with this? I think folding the flop is too weak, but the turn bet I'm not happy with either. |

Re: Hand 2 - QQ
It's not terrible to fold the QQ on the flop to the minraise. Most people at NL25 will not do this with draws.
With the KK hand, you basically have to call. You're often beat here, but this could also just be someone with a flush draw figuring he's going to end up putting all $10 in there anyway, might as well try to fold you out while he's at it. |

SB posts a blind of $0.1. UTG calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.25, MP2 raises to $4, 5 folds, UTG folds, Hero calls $2.75. Re: Hand 3 - JJ
Leading the flop is fine, but definitely fold to the raise.

Re: Hand 3 - JJ
Check-folding the flop is fine. You're lucky you didn't have some tricky opponent who would flat call your bet with Aces. Then you really get into a pickle.
