Question regarding satellites
This is a general question, but I will use an example specific to a tournament tonight that I may/may not enter. There is a $5+R PokerStars tournament tonight (23:59 EST) that is a satellite to the $700K guaranteed on Sunday. As far as prizes go, are seats AND cash awarded? Seats to everyone at the final table and cash to a few others?
Any explanation would be great, thanks guys. |

Re: Question regarding satellites
they award as many seats as poissible given the cash in the prize pool (which depends upon number of entries, rebuys and add ons). The small balance is paid in cash to a couple of bubblers.

Re: Question regarding satellites
Divide the total prize pool (after rebuys and add ons) by the entry fee (buy in and entry fee) of the target tourney. That is the total number of seats awarded. Any remainder goes to the ONE person to finish on the bubble.

Re: Question regarding satellites
I think we need an "online MTT faq." I'd be willing to write one.

Re: Question regarding satellites
What they all said.
Small tip...if you can, try and get someone on tilt around level III (25/50). They may go nuts, end up pushing all-in on every hand, and make enough rebuys to pay for another seat. Just something I learned from this afternoon's satellite. |

Re: Question regarding satellites
Is it me or does Stars have a pretty crappy Satalite system. imo, the larger events at Party (Friday Special, 200K, 350K) are much easier to qualify to through sub and regualr qualifiers than any events at Stars.
