Best way to take large sum of money to a casino?

I'm heading down to the WSOP for the ME and I was just wondering what's the best way to take a large sum of money down there? Carrying a large wad of cash seems like a hassle and could possibly get you in trouble. What are some of the other ways? Thanks.

Call the casino and arrange to wire them money so you can get it at the cage when you arrive.

I have applied for a line of credit at several of the casinos in Vegas. When I get there I sign for however much I want. I then have seven days to pay it back or they take it from my checking account. At Bellagio I have also brought a certified check for them to cash. This was on a trip subsequent to several visits and they must have had some history on me.

You should be able to get a check certified by your home bank and then get it cashed at a bank in Vegas.

I second that idea. Lines of credit are great, if you already have the money in your account to repay them, and you exercise enough discipline to stay out of trouble. But if there's any chance you might overextend yourself, in an effort to get even, stay away from them.

Put the money in a checking account then call the casino where you are staying and ask to speak to the cage. You could also set this up at the Horseshoe if you prefer. Tell them you want to set up a "maker" and they will fax you a credit application. They will call your bank to verify that the money is in your checking account and you will be able to withdraw it at the cage when you arrive (you basically sign a future-dated check for the amount you withdraw). Do this in advance, since they will need to contact your bank during business hours to verify funds. You typically have 30 days to repay the marker; just pay them from your winnings before you leave or send them a check if you don't make the money.

You can also use a wire transfer, as someone else suggested, but you will pay wire transfer fees.

You can also get a safe deposit box at the cage (or sometimes at the front desk) so you don't need to carry it around). The casinos accept each other's checks, so you can convert to $1000 or $5000 checks if you absolutely need to carry the money to another casino (but don't lose them!).

On the other hand, I have carried tens of thousands of dollars in $100 bills to Vegas on several occasions and not had a problem: taxi to airport, taxi from airport to hotel, immediate stop at cage to get a safe deposit box.

The marker is the best way.
