Default Harrah\'s St Louis

I will be in St Louis last weekend of the month for a wedding and was wondering what the play is like at Harrah's. What games do they spread and what are the players typically like? Thanks for any advise.

Harrah's is LL and Low NL. Ameristar has a wider range of games and is a nicer room. I prefer Ameristar, it's about 2 miles down the highway from Harrah's.

Basically. Harrah's doesn't go higher than 6/12 in limit and 2/5 blinds in NL. They don't offer any other games either. The only good thing about Harrah's right now is that their badbeat jackpot is over 270K but that could be hit by the time you're in town.

I suggest you go up the street to Ameristar. As mentioned before, it's a nicer room with a wider variety of games(higher limits and they also run omaha)

Are the games softer at Harrah's or Ameristar?

I've been to them all. St. Louis is not a big poker arena, so if you're a decent player, you'll prob win wherever. The Ameristar room is usually crowded as hell though.

I've only played 3-6 at both Harrah's and Ameristar, but nobody is very good that I've seen. Most of the table limps in with any 2. Played good hands strong. Nobody likes to fold either.

They're probably both equally as soft, although the play at Harrahs may be crazier since everyone is trying to hit that badbeat.

But as long as you're a decent player, you'll do fine. I usually book a win almost everytime I play.

First post here
Not alot of credibility, but here is my opinion

Avoid presidents like the plague, poorly run dump

Harrahs- Huge bb as mentioned earlier, very aggressive players w/ deep pockets, place to play NL, also has 3/6 &6/12 limit, stingy w/ comps....Lots of loosed players on limit games generally 6+ for flop

Ameristar- Higher limit games offered 3/6 5/10 15/30 20/40
Limit games have over buttons, so u can double the stakes is you desire. Also have limit omaha, and occasionally pot limit omaha... More accomodating to requesting games....

My opinion- limit or omaha Ameristar
NL- Harrahs
