odds to peel with an under pocket pair
In this hypothetical situation, what kind of odds do you need to see the turn card:
There are two over cards (any combination of T-A) on the flop. making your set does not complete a straight or flush draw. You are closing the action in a 4 or 5-way unraised pot. In this situation we can be 95% sure that if we spike the set it will be the best hand. |

Re: odds to peel with an under pocket pair
The odds are like 22.5:1, but I think we can peel on off getting something like 19:1.

I think 15:1 is enough.

15:1? Wow I need to readjust my game.

Re: odds to peel with an under pocket pair
At 15:1 on the flop, you only need 4BB of implied odds to justify the call. This should not be too difficult with 4-5 players and 2 more rounds of betting. There definitely are situations where you would need closer to 19:1, i.e. the flop is very textured.

Re: odds to peel with an under pocket pair
Thanks for clearing that up. I only called getting 15:1 when I had some sort of backdoor draw too.
