444 - smoothcall/reraise? Do you like it?
Is it FPS or proper way to play it?
Reads: BB is TP-P (19/3.9) UTG is LA-P (77/14/1) CO is LP-P (45/4) Call on flop - I really don't want to fold CO and BB. So slowplay here is good? When it's figured out that BB c/raising is it good to 3bet because i don't want to give any flush draw cheap cards? 4-4 utg+1 in a 8 handed game? u should have reraised on the flop, what if nobody raised behind your smooth call and a spade came on the turn?

Re: 444 - smoothcall/reraise? Do you like it?
When were you planning on raising if BB hadn't checkraised? You say you want to keep Co and BB in, but if you raise the turn they'll only be putting more money in if they hit their straight or flush draw you let them draw correctly to. Raise the flop, it's draw heavy and waiting til the turn won't get you much more money.

Lots of draws out there that people will pay to see the turn with. Just raise it. TOo fancy and risky. Glad it worked out for you, though.

noway do I smooth call the flop.
1. 44 UTG+!?? loose 2. NEVER - slow play a set - although this time it looks OK but people will call a raise with anything - what if BB didn't raise. Still - in my 1 billion hands I have learned 200 times that I should never slow play a set - the turn hits a spade and then you wondering about a flush. Grinders Warehouse BLOG Edition |

Re: 444 - smoothcall/reraise? Do you like it?
As long as there's two to a flush out there, I don't fool around. One thing you need to realize, slowplaying is only effective if your opponents would have folded dominated hands otherwise. If you look at what happened, you would have gotten action whether you raised or called. By call-raising, you managed to scare off all of your opponents and lost all your action for the rest of the hand. Usually, playing your hand normally will get you more action than trying to be fancy anyway.

Re: 444 - smoothcall/reraise? Do you like it?
yes u fold 4-4 in EP regardless if someone limped in in front of you, what if u get raised behind? u have a 1/8 chance of hitting trips, putting in a BB beforehand just isnt worth it

Raise the flop, you have to protect from the flush draw. Preflop is fine.
