Default What do you think of this

Have played many hands with button and consider him to be truly horrible. No real read on UTG+1 seems to be SLPP.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) converter

MP3 ($23.65)
Hero ($30.45)
Button ($14.20)
SB ($23)
BB ($5.30)
UTG ($33.25)
UTG+1 ($35.75)
MP1 ($22.15)
MP2 ($18.90)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls $0.25, MP3 calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $1.25</font>, SB calls $1.15, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $1, MP2 calls $1, MP3 calls $1, Hero calls $1.

Flop: ($7.75) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(6 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 bets $0.75</font>, MP2 folds, MP3 calls $0.75, Hero calls $0.75, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $2.75</font>, SB folds, UTG+1 calls $2, MP3 calls $2, Hero calls $2.

Turn: ($18.75) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, MP3 checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

River: ($18.75) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 bets $0.75</font>, MP3 folds, Hero calls $0.75, Button calls $0.75.

Final Pot: $21

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
UTG+1 has Js Kc (two pair, jacks and fours).
Hero has 8c Ac (flush, ace high).
Button has Qd Ah (one pair, fours).
Outcome: Hero wins $21. </font>

My main questions are preflop and on the river. Do you call this pf? Do you raise the river? Comments on all streets appreciated.

i limp LP with A2s-A5s if lots of limpers, and then if lots of callers of that 1$ raise then i'd call.

i wouldn't with A8s cuz no str8 outs as well...also u hit the ace, he did too with a better kicker.

however, i think u shoulda raised that river.

I'd raise to about $8-10 on the river. More or less, depending on what they will call. Highly unlikely you are beat here given the action.

your play should be pushing on this flop after button raises. this situation is a suited ace's wet dream.

Givin' the amount of callers preflop and on the flop you played this hand fine.

You need to get some money - even if it's just a weak $6 value bet on the river though. Don't draw to your clubs and cold call a .75 bet. If you get reraised when you come over the top - then you can think about a lay down.

You're not ahead of enough to push this flop every time. Pushing here is stupid.

I don't think that fim expects to be ahead, but I think that he expects to be about a 60-40 dog with a few callers and plenty of dead money.

I think I am laying this down pre flop. With button raising into two limpers, you have to figure him for an A,Face or a high pocket pair. In either situation, you are dominated pre flop and are drawing to your flush or a 9 with no faces coming out.

Post flop, I think I am re raising about 2, same thing the button did. This gives you good information on where you stand in the hand. If button comes over the top, you can lay it down. A push here, I think is out of the question. The only things calling you are two pair, top pair, or an overpair. In any case, you are drawing to your flush, which you only hit 25% of the time.

After the river, you need to raise. the only thing that will beat you is a set turned boat which is not likely considering the passive play of your opponents. I would put about a 1/2 pot raise out there to extract more from my opponents.

I thought about raising , but pushing really? It would seem the pot would need to be bigger.

I guess I should have raised the river. That weak bet just seemed like he wanted me to raise him , it just smelled fishy. Too many bad beats make for seeing monsters I guess.
