Do I get involved in this?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (4 handed) converter
Hero (t1513) UTG (t4430) Button (t942) SB (t1115) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Button raises to t942 (All-In), SB calls t792, Hero ???? If I fold: SB wins - I'm ITM Button wins - SB is left with t173 and will probably be blinded out. If I do decide to get involved and get SB to put the rest of his chips in pre or post flop. I win - I'm guaranteed at least 2nd and am heads up with UTG with nearly equal stacks. SB wins - I'm ITM but have <2xBB Button wins main & SB wins side - I'm out in 4th. Button wins main & I win side - I'm ITM but have <2.5xBB |

Re: Do I get involved in this?
No way in hell! On the bubble with the relative chip stacks, your first goal is to get in the money.
If SB wins, you're in the money. If button wins, SB is crippled -- pretty much putting you in the money. If there were 3 people left (with PP's payout of 25/15/10) then you could consider it (to have a better chance of winning) |

Re: Do I get involved in this?
I fold.
Many times it just makes sense to play for money, and not solely for first. This is one of those times. |
