AK Postflop
I find myself getting in these situations where I just don't want to put another cent into these hands after I bet so aggressive on the flop.

Re: AK Postflop
I think you need to at least bet T500 on the turn. If he's a reasonable player who is trapping you with and he cr's allin you can get away from it. After betting the turn and getting called, I may check behind on the river rather then risking my whole stack.
Having said that, since you didn't bet the turn, now I for sure think you should value bet T500 on the river. He obviously doesn't have you beat, and he will call you with a lot of hands you can beat. |

Re: AK Postflop
Depending on my read, I'll usually fire at the pot again on the turn; if I check on the turn as you did, I'd DEFINITELY bet something on the river.
If he had picked up a monster, then his checking the flop and turn makes sense, but after you check behind on the turn, most with a big hand will value bet on the river. Since the villian didn't, I think you're safe to value bet with TPTK. Again, this depends on your read on the opponent. Thoughts? |

Re: AK Postflop
My thoughts exactly, though I'll usually bet something smaller on the river (200-300ish), since very few hands will call a half-size pot bet here.

Re: AK Postflop
You think you were aggressive on the flop with your whopping 3/5 pot bet?
Jeez, bet the turn, you're usually ahead here I promise. |

Re: AK Postflop
I think you played it perfectly up until the river where you should be value betting. He's not going for a C/R after you checked behind on the turn.

Re: AK Postflop
How can I bet the turn and fold to a raise? Any reasonable bet (500) leaves me with 600 left behind me with a 2200 pot staring in front of me.

[/ QUOTE ] You started the hand with T1790. 1790-100-300-500, would leave you with T890 left if you folded to a turn checkraise. You are not pot commited in this spot against a reasonably straight forward opponent who check raises the turn. You must have a good read on the player, but you are deep enough to make a fold here. |

How do you have a good read on the player online this early in the tournament?
