Default The therapy of 2+2

For about the fifth time this week, I typed out a question completely and then erased it immediately. By the time I was done writing it out, I had answered my own question.

This reminds me of therapy - I go in and spew out problems and questions. Half the time the therapist offers nothing but active listening; and when I'm stuck, she'll offer me a direction to move in. And I work it all out on my own.

It's not a perfect analogy, but right now I feel like I'm sitting on the couch!

Thanks to you all for making this a safe place in what can at times be an agonising and isolating hobby.

Marlow

Glad we could help. That'll be $100, please.

Yes. Safe HERE. I don't expect any mercy at the tables from any 2+2er. And in the unlikely even that any WAS shown, I'd be very disappointed...

It's funny you mentioned this, because I was going to post something similar on the theory forum.

Lately, I've just been waiting a couple of days to post hands and reviewing them myself as if I found them on the forum.

It has been good for my confidence as I answer my own questions more often than not. When I find some doubt or something that I think others could benefit from then I put it up here.

These forums are without a doubt the best thing that could ever happen to someone who wants to learn to play well.

Disappointed? Sounds like you need to work on your mindset at the tables. If someone wants to give you money in poker because you're someone they know and possible like or respect, you oughta be thrilled

It really is the best thing out there. I sometimes go through periods where I'm not active here, and when I do my game slowly but steadily slides...

Lucy, of Peanuts fame, charges only five cents.

And she is more famous than both of us.

To be fair, wouldn't I have to divide that $ between every 2+2er?

Your .0002 cents is in the mail...

I completly agree. While I was a having marginal success with the books only, my game has tremendously improved since I started actively posting hands & analyzing them. The support during downswings, if only to know that you're not alone and that its normal, is also pretty cool. Long live 2+2
