situations like this make me want to avoid raising AK and AKs early position, has it been profitable for you guys to raise?

also what do you think about my continuation bet on this type of flop?

thanks

Default Re: AK and AKs early position

What about the ten other times you got a loose caller, fired at an eight-high flop & took it down w/o a peep? That's a lot more common. It's absolutely to raise AKo preflop in any position on all but the rock-tightest tables. AKs is worth the occasional limp or limp-reraise on loose tables, I think, for deception value & because it plays well multiway. Your flop play here was perfectly fine. Now that he's called, it's time to evaluate your man and decide whether he stands a profitable chance of folding to a second stab - admittedly unlikely, given the texture of the board. I probably don't play the turn or the river any different; a randomized, game-theory-type call on the end woudl only be justified if villain is hyper-agg and liable to steal against any show of weakness. Anyway, don't let occasional discomfort keep you from making the consistently correct play.
