Default Massive Overbets

I don't play B&M that often...just the occaisional saturday night. I'm playing in a reasonable sized game. Only 2-5 but the cap is reasonably high (5 or 600 I believe).

Question is this. I've become a huge fan of the massive overbet lately (online). It seems to get paid off quite frequently. In your experience, is this just as effective in B&M? The guys I play with are pretty bad, and some have a complete disregard for money...but occasionally you run into some solid players.

Just curious if you guys are fans of the massive overbets in B&M or if it's a more online thing, as people are very tempted to click call because of the spontaneity of online poker.

big fan of it. easy to set it up to get paid with it as well:

just wait for a weak-tight player to have a hand he doesn't like very much, and blow him out of the pot with the overbet. then show the table the pure bluff like you just pulled off some hot [censored] bluff of the century.

sure it is a bit of an ass move, but every single player will definitely notice, and will look forward to 'picking you off' at a later time. even solid players who should realize you were merely advertising can't help but pay you off sometimes when they should know better.
