A hand, and a fun hand.
#1
This is a hand from awhile back. I'm bringing it up after reading miles' post about "if you never folded a flush draw, you wouldn't be making much a mistake." I agree with him, but I felt this was a situation where folding might be better than calling. Both villains were unknown at the time. Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, UTG+2 calls, 3 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (4 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+2 calls, CO calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, UTG+2 bets, CO raises, Hero... #2 This is for my/your amusement, since I'm in the middle of a breakeven stretch. I call it "pay the rake." Ironically Villain's stats were 50/4/.5 after a few hundred hands. He got a little tired of not raising Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 6 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, CO calls. Flop: (5 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, CO calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO caps, Hero calls. River: (11.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO caps, Hero calls. Final Pot: 19.50 BB Results in white below: Hero has Ac Ks (straight, ace high). CO has 8h 9h (straight, queen high). Outcome: Hero wins 19.50 BB. |

oh man calling that turn would be baad [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I figure even on an unpaired board it's thin at 7.5:2. Here, with the JJT flop... |

And it's even worse at 6.5:2.

Re: A hand, and a fun hand.
/ yeah definitely
4 players in the pot, so we're cool with equity, and there's a chance we'll take it down right there / gah I misread the post - I thought we were betting into four guys, when there are four including the hero. Yeah it's sort of questionable. I still don't mind it though |

Re: A hand, and a fun hand.
Question of mine as well, given the flop texture.
