Default Is this set-up going to be any good ??

I know there are a few PC gurus lurking on this forum....? I was wondering as to whether this set-up will be any good....Primarily to play poker :

*Sapphire Technology Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB DDR AGP RP DVI VO

*Crucial Technology 512MB 184Pin DIMM PC3200 DDRRAM ECC Unbuffered CL3 (x2)

*Asustek S478 Intel 875P ATX A L R

*Intel Pentium 4E 3.2 1MB S478 800FSB Box

*Gaming Case 480W Black

*Pioneer DVD+-R/RW DualLayer 16x IDE Black Drive Only

*Maxtor DiamondMax Plus10 250GB S150

*2 x Dell E193FP 19" mainstream LCD Flat Panel Monitors

Total cost for this set-up is approx £1000....I'm prepared to pay this as it will have everything that I feel is suffucient for me to play comfortably and should have the capabilty to do so....?

Am I missing anything....

*This setup includes 6-8 USB's, Firewire etc and all other parts*

Advice will be appreciated.....

P.s.....How I wished I lived in the U.S...£1000 ~ $1820...which means good set-up?

Anyways.....my brain is now frazzled....

***EDIT***

Shall I get a Dual DVI or stick with a DVI-VGA video card for the monitors.....there is not that much of difference in price...~£75 or so.....to get a dual DVI...

If it's only going to be for poker, drop the 9800 and get something a bit cheaper. Use the saved money to get a gig of ram.

Why the heck do people spend so much for a "poker" computer. Would you spend this much money for a "word processing" computer. I have the same computer that I got 4 years ago, and it still works like a charm. You don't need a state of the art computer to run 4 windows of partypoker.

I would go for monitors that do 1600x1200. Although you'll think 19" is good enough, you'll be sorry soon enough (i'm speaking from experience).

I'm a Mac guy so I had my friend build me a chop shop PC for under $300, no CD/DVD drives. AMD Athlon 1GHz, 512MB RAM, Radeon VE/7000 video. added a 2001FP paid for by my first two months of bonus whoring.

that's all I need to be +1.82BB/100 in actual games plus earn at least a 200% lifetime rebate on my rake via bonuses.

As said above, scrap those. Either get 2 2001FP Dells (20 inch that can go 1600x1200) or invest in 2 19" CRT's that can go 1600x1200. You need that resolution to have 4 tables and no overlap. Spending that much on those 2 monitors for a "poker computer" is pointless.

Get 1G of RAM and either 1 - 2001FP or two of them. I just built a new PC for poker and everything else I would ever need for $1100 w/ a 2001FP.

I was recently quoted $676 (Canadian dollars - educational pricing) for a 2001fp. I then saw a sale on a 19" lcd that can do 1280x1024 for $339 (same Canadian dollars). Do you still think it is better to get the single 20" over the two 19"'s for essentially the same price?

Curious as some here really have experienced the positives/negatives of smaller than 20" monitors.

1280 x 1024 is the part that makes the 19" less prudent for online poker. almost all the game windows are 800 x 600 so in order to 4-table with no overlap, you need 1600 x 1200 resolution. the 2001FP is pretty much the best LCD value that supports that graphic level.

CDN$676 is a good price, if you need to go cheaper then get a larger CRT which supports 1600x1200, not a smaller LCD that doesn't.
