Default Is it bad to tell people to stop giving poker lessons at the table?

Nowadays, about the only time I say anything at the table is to admonish others to stop berating fish for bad play and explaining to the fish why they stink.

But is this a bad idea? If I say anything like that, is it counterproductive? Do I merely alert others to the fact that I'm paying attention?

Default Re: Is it bad to tell people to stop giving poker lessons at the tabl

The only times i've seen this happen is when people play well and lose to some ridiculous draw that would never happen with a decent player.

Probably the only thing I would ever say to these people is tell them that there's nothing personal going on.

Anger towards the object causing frustration is quite normal. And anger is always a result of unmet expectations, which I find quite amusing when dealing with poker.

If someone expects more than what the cards and their opponents are going to give, then they've set themselves up.

I can't expect my set to hold up every single time; if I do expect the insane, getting pissed is my own fault.

So no I don't think it's bad at all. But I'm not evaluating based on +EV either.
