Default Trappin\' da donks

The cast:
SB: 68/8 ~100 hands
UTG: 80/10 ~80 hands
MP3: 14/9 large sample

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (13 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks...

With the intention to trap the donks. I suspect MP3 would bet all his possible holdings here AA-TT/AK/AQs. The pot is big, but since the donks often will be trapped drawing to runner runner I think it's profitable. I think it's also about how likely MP3 is to raise a hand I beat if I bet (JJ/TT/AK), if he would I like betting better. What do you think?

also, because the pot will be protected by the donks, which will make it easier to put him on a hand

What I thought, just wanted to make sure.

Good point.

I think that if MP3 is able to raise hands I beat we want the donks out and should bet, I doubt he will raise with these hands and thus I think check/raising is the only way to "protect" our hand (at least the best way in making the donks call unprofitable). if I'm behind I love to have these donks around and if I'm ahead check/raising is most often the only way to get them to pay 2 bets on the flop.

Yup, but the only hand he could consider checking is AK, and I think this will also be an autobet for him. He seems like a TAG from the stats, but he also seems pretty predictable from the "real" reads I have. I think the average TAG bets this flop ~75% of the time with AK, at least.

the pot isn't quite as drawles as you'd hope.

also i wouldn't try it against 3 opponents especially if they can have live 5 outers against you.
