QJs (and someone is all-in on the river)
UTG+1 (36/13/.9) had about 4 BBs when the hand started. He went all-in on the river for $2.
SB was 31/3/1.5. Does anyone play this differently? Re: QJs (and someone is all-in on the river)
Given that UTG+1 is shortstacked, his turn raise is more an act of desperation than it is a sign of strength, so I think you played this hand fine.

Re: QJs (and someone is all-in on the river)
Seeing as you know you're callin the UTG+1's 2 bucks on the river, I'd 3 bet the turn because I'm ahead of the SB and want him to call an extra bet.
Then when its just the 2 of you on the river, and he checks to you, bet again. |

Re: QJs (and someone is all-in on the river)
I have learned that playing someone short stacked like they are desperation betting gets me in trouble more often then not. ESPICIALLY when there is more then one other person in the hand.
Check/Call the turn. What are those other 2 guys playing that is keeping them in the game. I feel people should be more scared about pair boards then they normally are. Grinders Warehouse BLOG Edition |
