How do you avoid life tilt?
I've gotten to the point where I go on tilt from bad beats and such very very rarely, if ever. 2 outers don't bother me much anymore.
I still go on tilt relatively often because of my ex-gf. Whenever we get in a fight and she leaves before it's resolved, it drives me absolutely insane. I have to stop playing and it wastes many hours of potential poker playing time. I can't do a damn thing because I'm so upset or angry. She is the only thing that has that kind of effect on me. Before anyone suggests it, not talking to her isn't an option. Thanks. |

Re: How do you avoid life tilt?
You claimed that "She is the only thing that has that kind of effect on me."
This makes me think that it is probably more important for you figure out why you continue to maintain a volatile relationship with an ex-girlfriend than it is for you to learn some basic anger management skills--which probably won't work anyway in regards to the emotionally-charged situations to which you refer. |

Re: How do you avoid life tilt?
She is the only thing that can affect me like that because she means a lot to me. We don't fight that often, but when we do and she is upset, it affects me a lot. I maintain the relationship because I care about her.

Re: How do you avoid life tilt?
May I suggest: Yoga, meditation, biofeedback, partner's counseling, psychoanalysis, relaxation technique therapy or moving out of the area?
You care about her - you have a child together and have to see her and your child? You are 100% responsible for your own feelings. Get some therapy. Dogmeat [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Re: How do you avoid life tilt?
It is my opinion that you cannot care strongly for someone without becoming equally angry and upset because of them.
