Preflop questions suck...
So here are two from hands I played this weekend up in Milwaukee. I feel both are probably reasonably close, but I'd like input anyway.
First hand: 5/10 I have black tens in the BB. UTG raises, he is somewhat loose, reasonably aggressive, he raised AJo preflop for example, so I can say he has a decent but not crazy raising range. There are...I think 4 cold-callers. It could have been 3 or 5 as well, but I'll go with 4. Reraise or flat call? Hand 2: 5/10 Kill pot, I'm the kill pot on the button, no less, so 10/20. Three limpers to me, no one terribly good, all somewhat loose, I have KQo. I usually raise this, didn't this time. You all raise this 100%? What about KJo? KQo in the sb? |

Re: Preflop questions suck...
First hand:
It doesn't much matter from a preflop EV point of view. Given your position relative to the raiser, I would flat call and bet if I flopped an overpair in the hope that UTG would raise and protect my hand. Also lets you CR the field when you flop a set. Hand 2 Raise without the kill. Given that you posted a kill blind, it's a super easy raise. What about KJo? Kill blind - yes. No kill blind - no. Lost Wages |

Kill blind - yes. No kill blind - no. [/ QUOTE ] How does the kill blind effect your decision? Isn't the kill blind and the BB of the same size? |

Re: Preflop questions suck...
I'd just call hand 1, raise hand 2.

Re: Preflop questions suck...
Just a question for you (I dont play 5-10)
In hand 1 given utg is loose agg, is there any value to raise in hope of UTG re-raising to get it heads up or is this stupid because you are OOP the rest of the way |

No one is ever going to fold after having already called 2 bets cold.

Re: Preflop questions suck...
re-raising is pointless in hand 1 since no cold-caller will fold in this spot for one more bet. Your players could be cold-calling with great cards, or they could be a little stupid - either way they're paying the bet and going to the flop. Hide your tens and hope for a happy board.
