2/4 Pokerstars general question
So here's a generic hand.
I have AK, I raise PF, get 2-4 or so callers. Flop comes something like K26r, I bet, get 1-2 callers. Turn comes an 8, checked to me, I bet and get check/raised. I call down and get shown 68 every time. Should I be folding to turn check/raises on rag boards always? |

Re: 2/4 Pokerstars general question
"Always" would be a large error, but you can lay this down to a typical/passive player once in a while if you can come up with a reasonable holding for that player that beats you.
It sucks being >50% sure you're beaten, but these are big pots; from an opponent's perspective, they're worth bluffing. |

Re: 2/4 Pokerstars general question
Small sample size, I know. But today 90% of the time or more this happened, it was a two pair/trips.
I was just surprised, because I was playing all 6-max tables so I expected to see bluffs, and never did. |

Re: 2/4 Pokerstars general question
You have 8 outs vs. 68 on the turn here, assuming no live flush draw.
Going by the numbers you're providing, you're getting about 9:1 to call the turn c/r, 5:1 to call down. Folding the turn would be a huge error in this instance, and when you factor in the the times you get c/r'd by a weaker K, underpair, or a total bluff, folding at any point in the hand is probably a mistake. That's the generic response...this obviously changes somewhat depending on your read (if any) on the check/raiser. |
