Default Below Average chip stack

If your low in chips and are going to need to push soon, what opportunity are you looking for. For instance your in late pos. and the big stack raises most likely with nothing are you pushing all in with a very marginal hand hoping to either double up quick or go out? Or are you waiting on hands where you can push all in in late pos. and most likely win the blinds and hang on to very few chips untill you raise with a very good hand?
