Default Bill O\'Reilly or FoxNews Fans

Out of morbid curiousity, I'd like to hear one of you to defend this:

O'Reilly is a blowhard. Count your spoons.

FoxNews (like most TV news) is not news. Do we really want to know in detail about MJ trial, runaway brides, Zion lake killings, missing girls in FL, rescued boys in Carolina etc, etc? TV news is more like mind numbing, unscripted human drama reality shows.

You want news -- read the NY Times, Boston Globe or find the BBC world service on your radio.

"The Chronicle did not call for lighter punishment; it called for the adoption of the most effective measures to protect our children."

All of the methods discussed seem to be extremely ineffective compared to the one best alternative - chemical castration.

O'Reilly was clearly wrong about the Chronicle's previous references to him. Overall it seems like a very petty dispute.

Jason Blair anyone? The NYT is NOT news. It's liberal propaganda.

A fired Blair vs a still hired blowhard.

The NY Times has better standards than Fox.

Basically, Rathergate (the FORGED documents), and Jayson Blair are talked about on this site.

hmmm... oddly enough, I could have guessed jaxmike's responses almost verbatim.

He is a living stereotype.

Well, a group with standards fires a bad seed.

O'Reilly still blows hard on Fox.

I like Fox News and I think it is the most accurate news source out there. I have yet to see a story about where Fox deliberately lied (like the NYT has been caught doing numerous times). If I found Fox was making up facts/stories to push an agenda I would stop watching. However, I have yet to see a single example alongs the lines of what has happened at the liberal outlets - CBS, NYT, LAT, CNN, BBC.

The original post to this story signifies nothing. He had his facts wrong. There appears to be nothing more. I would no more fault him for this than I would fault the NYT or any other source. It happens. Now, if you could show it was deliberate or it was a pattern then you have something.

He is allowed to be a blowhard and he is allowed to give his slanted opinion as he is not on a news show. btw - I dont like his show very much. I like H&C much better.
