Default low limits

I'm being totally serious right now...Is it REALLY possible to win at levels like $0.50/$1 ?

I have $75 free dollars at Party...with the stipulation that you have to play 500 raked hands before it's really yours...I've play over 300 hands and am down to $47...

Now..Im no limit expert (I play mostly no-limit sitngos), but I'm pretty aware of what hands to play and when...but I keep losing with high pocket pairs and draws that don't materialize to utter garbage...

With the rake and all, is this level unbeatable?

Or do I just suck or haven't played enough hands yet?

Definately beatable. You have played almost no hands. 300 raked hands is nothing. Swings happen. You are probably being too agressive using your SNG strategy. I started out playing SNGs too and found that I played too many hands when I went to limit. You are also playing with a low bankroll. The forum benchmark for any paticular limit is 300BBs. You are playing with only 75. Stay around this forum, reply to topics posted. Post a few of your own. .50/1 is definately beatable.

As everyone else has stated, it's definitely beatable. However, with only a 75BB roll at the lowest limits, the question is whether or not (supposing you are a winning player) the swings will bankrupt you in 500 hands. Of course, they could go the other way and you could even double up. The best strategy is probably to do some research and drop marginal holdings which, although they are +EV, increase your overall variance.

1. Party .5/1 is absurdly beatable.

2. It is very easy to lose 75BB in 500 hands or less.

3. Statements (1) and (2) are by no means contradictory.

They are definitely beatable, party tables are generally soft. You need to be mindful of table selection, a really tight table will take a long time to clear your bonus.

If you have not already, you have time to read SSH. At least read the preflop section before you continue. This is not the ideal, but you have only a short time to make your 500 hands. I suppose with 200 raked hands left, you could sit down and never play a hand. In about 300 hands you will make your bonus $25, leaving you with about $50. Then apply what you learn in your own time.

The free $75 is a great deal. In about 750 hands I was able to double it. This was despite taking a beating at a 2+2 table one night.
