Default 99 on a raggish flop...place to check where youre at?

8-handed 2/4€ NL holdem
Villian in this hand has been kinda tight-aggressive post flop in my notes (lot of limping), though he has made few succesfull bluffs lately and seems like he's feeling pretty strong about himself.
My table-image is also TAGgish, have really shown only good holdings in the few hands i've been in with...pretty card dead though troughout the session.
Both hero and villian have stacks ~450€

So villian limps from UTG+1, limp from MP, folded to hero on button who makes it 16€ to go with 99 (mistake?). Only villian calls.

Flop 26Tr (pot 42€)

Villian thinks a while and bets out 30€, hero immedieately reraises to 80€. Villian raises to 240€ and hero folds...

So my question is...is this too bad of a way to test where youre at on this kind of flop...should i have just called the flop bet and hoped for a miracle turn?
