Default I am bleeding $$$ from the small blind

over 2500 hands so far i am losing 132 Big bets from just the small blind with a vpip of 55 % which i realize is WAY too high...Just looking for some general guidelines on how t o play from the SB...

I have been calling with some hands that i would not normally call if it was a whole bet. Should I just play from the SB as if i did not already have half a bet in there and ignore the cheaper odds i get for drawing hands?

I know 2500 is still a small sample size, but i am worried that if i wait till 10,000 to fix this problem i might not make it w/o bustingv out on my PP account

Everyone say it with me - everyone is a loser in the blind positions.

I'm only counting for VPIP here, 55% has to be way too high.

Suited Aces
Suited Kings
Offsuit Aces to ~A8o
Offsuit Connectors to JTo (Iffy)
Suited Connectors to 54s
Suited one-gaps to 75s
Suited two-gaps to 96s
Any Pocket Pair

I think that covers it. Raise as appropriate, and be mindful of potential blind-steals. See also the HUSH forum, I suppose...

One thing which helped me was to defend blinds less and attack blinds more in good positions. It meant accepting that SB-position sucks and you therefore have to play quite passive while CO and button is good for kicking the [censored] of the blinds. Thus you win more than you lose (sounds simple ).

Most posters here will complete any two suited with 2-3 limpers.

yes but 132 big bets in 2500 hands?

I am not saying i should be winning but i am losing 4 times as much from the SB than from any other position...

In fact i am winnning from the BB as of right now... I realize it is a small sammplre size but it is such a glaring hole i must be doing something wrong

True, but you can control how much of a loser you are. 55 VP$SB is ridiculously high. Stop completing with hands like A8o and K9o. The lowest connectors I will play is JTo, but some like T9o. Don't complete with any two suited unless there are a ton of limpers, and even then, its good to at least have some high card value and connectedness. If there is a raise PF, you should almost treat it like a cold-call - you should rarely ever do it (with the exception of steal attempts). With few limpers, I would avoid hands like 45s as well.

Assuming you've seen the SB 250 times -

Posting - .25BB * 250 = 62.5BB
Completing - .25BB * 250 * 55% = 34BB

Total of 96BB there. It looks more of a function of your post-flop skills than position. Or just sample size.

One advice:
At .50/1 betting the flop from SB will not give you much information since so many will call with almost any 2. If this calling makes you passive at turn, stop betting the flop.
