Re: c/r\'ed :(
interesting. I am inclined to flatcall and call a push on any turn the lacks a club. Rough spot w/o reads.

Re: c/r\'ed :(
Just noted that this is the second hand you posted where you play A9o. I suspect you are on a steal and if that is the case then fine.
I would have only put out a value bet on the flop, maybe 1/2 the pot and fold very quickly to a reraise. My guess is TT, 44 or an A with a much better kicker. |

Re: c/r\'ed :(
If you have been stealing a lot it makes it easier to call. But BB just put in more than a third of his stack on a Ace high board after you bet into him. A set is unlikely as I think he wouldve reraised you preflop with something like AA-77. He either has an ace or belives you don't have it and is trying to make a stand, that is if you ahve been stealing a lot. Very tough decision without any reads like bug said.

Bugstud
Out of curiousity, why do you think the villian is drawing here? Is it because he checked a flop with 2 clubs and you suspect he is hoping to draw a free card? |

Re: c/r\'ed :(
I'm going to disagree w/ bugstud on this one. I can't imagine a flush draw plays the flop like this. If anything, he's going to c/r all-in or put out a small bet on the flop. I just can't see a c/r for that much being a flush draw.
That said, I call looking for one of my 11 outs: a 9 or [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If the 9 hits, I'm getting my chips in the middle no matter what. If a club hits, it depends on villian's action. But, I think that often enough Villian will check the turn and you'll be able to push. Its a really tough spot if Villian decides to bet a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] though...it would depend on how much, etc., before I decided my action. |

i folded.
i felt like i was turning my hand into KQ by taking that line. what do you think about a line of check the flop, call the turn, call/bet small on the river? it gives a lot of free cards on a scary board but it makes it less likely i'll get pushed off a winner. |

Re: Results
I think playing the first line will get you in a whole lot of trouble when you start to play the bigger tourneys.
Line 2 is fine against some players, in spite of what some 2+2ers think. If you play in tourneys with deeper stacks, checking the flop will be pretty standard. Whether or not to call or raise the turn will depend on the board, and your opponent's style of play. |
