Don't check first, just push.

I read somewhere that when you're playing headsup, bet middle pair like it's top pair. That seems smart here.

If you know your opponent will bet a large % of the time, check raising is probably just fine. If not...then I'd bet. It depends how you feel about the opponent.

Only problem is when your opponent pushes, you'll have a hard time calling.

I prefer an open push here.

As long as this is more of a variation type play I think its fine. You have to checkraise hands like this sometimes agaisnt observant opponents or he will bet way too much when you check. Sometimes you want free cards, this is a good way to get them.

With most of the opponents I usually find myself against who limp a bit pre-flop without premium hands I always check raise, since they tend to always bet when checked to.
