5/10 NL
I have about 1000, villain has about the same. I make it 60 to go after 3 limpers with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2 callers. Flop comes 78T 2 diamonds. Checked to me, I bet 120, 1 caller. Turn Ks Checked to me again, standard to check back? Villain is unremarkable. Not overly lag/tag/calling station etc...just eh Also, what do you think about the flop bet, sometimes I tend to overvalue my hand and bet the full pot or maybe even over the pot, but lately I've been thinking that anything that's calling me more often than not has me smoked. Eh? If I balance out the times where I raise with TT and overbet the pot and times where I raise with overcards and flop overs and a draw, then is it profitable? |

It's standard to check the turn. Take the free card.
Your flop bet is good. I think it's fine to randomize your betting amount when it's your action on the flop if your opponents pay attention to that. |

This is a bit tricky. Villian has to have something to call, but you don't know exactly what.
You're stuck between protecting top pair top kicker on the turn, and wanting to see the river. I think you have to ask yourself, will you regret betting if check-raised and you want to see the river? I'd say yes. You definitely want to see the river and risk giving a card that beats you. This holds doubly true against opponents who are willing to fire a bluff on the river hoping the K was a scare card for you, so you can pick them off. This holds triply true to opponents who are capable of bluff check-raising the turn. Also, in the event that your opponent has a set or straight (two pair?), you will reap the benefits of a hidden flush with position and leverage to raise. So my plan would be to check the turn and call any decent sized bet (1/2 to 3/4) absent any 6 or J and you don't hit your flush. Garland |
