Search the form, someone wrote something about a free $500 coupon I think, dont remember where its at, have to sign up for a credit card or something, might be a scam.

Sign up for an amazon credit card - they give you like $30 or something. Not much, but it's something. They also give you a $25 coupon every couple months (depending on how much you use the card, obviously).

Hi, you could buy gift certs for amazon for 80% face value for amazon from various programs like dealpass. It's actually buying for 100% (face value) and getting a 20% rebate on the credit card you purchased them on the following month.

Amazon also has/had a "share the pi" discount program, where you earn the privilege of a pi/2 discount on amazon by using a9.com searches for an unspecified amount of time. (I don't know if they still offer this, they did 2 months ago.)

You can read more about dealpass at fatwallet. I also wrote up a little deal I did using both dealpass & pi/2 on my blog here (no affiliate stuff, scroll about 1/2way down post.) But it's better for larger purchases, may not be worth the effort for smaller ones.

No, I did it anout a year ago and the card has been really good. Low APR, good website. It's actually how I bought TOP and HEPFAP. I think they came out to about $5 together. Everytime they send me a new certificate, I get a new poker book.

See i'm 18 and while I dont want a credit card, since I have a debit card, will this be a good way for me to build up a credit rating?

No.

Put some bills in your name (that report to credit agencies) or get a credit card with a small limit (like $500 - $1000 or so) to start building credit.

Just be careful and don't fall into credit card debt that happens to so many people, me included. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Yea true I dont really want a credit card though. The amazon card wont report to credit agencies? At least with that I save money when I buy from Amazon.
