Default Medium pair goodness

Button is LP-P; No reads on MP1

I have no solid reasoning for my somewhat atrocious plays post-flop. MP1 just sat down and had raised his last few hands, so I kinda wanted to see his raising standards.

I'd fold the flop with 2 overs.I would not overcall.

I don't understand the riverplay, when Button wakes up there you raise him?

Raising the river certainly wasn't part of the plan until MP1 checked. My line at the time was that I had a fair chance of winning a showndown heads-up. I really wasn't expecting Button to fold, but the thought crossed my mind as a possible win scenario.

I assume I in regards to the river play, I lose this more times than I win it, correct?

Actually, I like the river raise more than I like the flop call, but this hand is pretty horrible all around.

Fold the flop.

The river is actually a valid play, but it was misapplied in this case. Let's say that we somehow know that the button is totally bluffing. If we have a hand like Kx, we should raise since MP1 figures to have a big ace and we don't want him to overcall if we just call. The problems in this hand are...

1) The button probably isn't bluffing
2) He will probably call a raise
3) We probably have MP1 beat.

So in this case, I can see calling the river as a vaild option. MP1's most likely hand is AK or AJ or whatever so we really don't care if he overcalls. Of course he might have two tens or two nines but that will be the rare exception. All we have to determine on the river is how often the button is bluffing. Since the pot is big and no one has shown much strength in this hand, I feel like he will be taking a stab often enough to make this call.

So much for seeing anyone's raising standards!
